Dental Associates provides a wide range of dental treatment, from everyday hygiene and maintenance to more complex surgical, cosmetic, orthodontic and reconstructive procedures. Treatment here can be as simple as your regular 6 monthly cleans, to extensive reconstruction of your smile by the use of titanium implants wedded to lifelike ceramic crowns. Our preference is for the use of non-metal containing restorations – from fillings to full ceramic, zirconia crowns.
Dental Implants
A missing tooth can be reliably replaced with a dental implant – a titanium “screw” surgically placed in the jaw bone, supporting a life-like porcelain tooth. Dental implants are a good option for replacing teeth when bridges or dentures just won’t do. Read more here!
Laser Whitening
We use the latest dental whitening system from BioLase, a 940-970nm laser with high concentration hydrogen peroxide light activated gel, for a consistent and brilliant result! Our whitening package also comes with a free NiteWhite 22% takehome kit (with mouthguards), and all whitening patients also receive a Prophyflex deep cleanse prior to whitening. All for $299 (limited time only)!
InvisAlign
We are an InVisAlign accredited practice, in addition to normal braces, we also offer Align Technology’s INVISALIGN straightening system – clear removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth WITHOUT brackets or wires. Not all cases are suitable for INVISALIGN, call 365 1565 and ask for an INVISALIGN consultation, this costs $98. More information here!
Crowns | Bridges | Cosmetic Reconstruction
The images to the right are cases completed by Dr Tan, a combination of all-ceramic crowns, and high gold alloy core crowns are often used to impart both strength and high aesthetics. An important part of treatment planning for any case, is the use of different materials to achieve different cosmetic and functional goals – e.g. strength over aesthetics, masking over translucency.
Composite Veneers
There are some circumstances that don’t warrant the preparation of teeth for the placement of porcelain, in these situations we have used composite veneers to acheive very lifelike results. Composites are hardwearing and can be replaced or repaired, in the right hands, they are extremely lifelike and will provide between 7-10 years of use – for about a 2/3 of the cost of porcelain! In the case to the right, orthodontic treatment was recommended but declined due to the time limitations. Composite was used to “widen” the smile, and reshape worn and aged looking teeth.
Orthodontic correction
In many cases, correction of irregular teeth is better acheived by orthodontic realignment rather than porcelain reconstruction, which can be quite destructive. Complex orthodontic cases are often referred to specialist orthodontists that we work closely with, but simpler cases can often be treated here by our general practitioners. We can also assess and refer you to the appropriate orthodontic specialists if needed.
Root canal treatment
Root canal treatment can sometimes be the most feared of all dental treatments! It doesn’t have to be a painful OR uncomfortable experience though. Endodontic procedures (root canal treatment) are predictable, comfortable and a good way to keep teeth that would otherwise be extracted! Come talk to us about how we can make this treatment process more comfortable to you, via sedation.
Surgical dentistry
From the simple extraction of teeth and extractions of wisdom teeth under IV sedation, to more complex procedures such as titanium implant placement and bone grafting – Dental Associates provides a range of dento-alveolar surgical procedures. Surgical treatment is often carried out under the comfort of fully monitored intra-venous sedation – a conscious anaesthesia protocol that relaxes you, reduces anxiety, banishes memory of the procedure, and limits any discomfort you may feel.
Hygiene and maintenance
Our hygienists, Reem and Sarah, will be managing all of Dr Tan and Chan’s maintenance and hygiene work, as well as carrying out their whitening procedures. Dental hygiene is the one sure way of reducing the need for dental work caused as a result of dental disease!
